Bon Voyage!
Here's a letter I sent to my supporters ...
Hello All,
I want to start by thanking you all for your financial support of my trip. I ask for your continued support in prayer over the next 6 weeks.
My time in country is shorter this year (5 versus 13 weeks) but I hope to be able to jump right in and be productive. My main duties will be to assist Sebi, the "video production guy". I worked with Sebi last year and have a pretty good idea of what is going on and what he is trying to do. I don't know what this year's specific projects are, but last year we produced videos highlighting the ministries on the campus of the organization's national headquarters and we did a video reviewing and promoting a kid's camp as well as other projects. Often last year, Sebi would edit video during the day and I would edit at night. If we stay on that schedule this year, I could stay on US time and never get jet lagged.
I've been asked a few times about what I would like prayer for while I am India. Although it is cliche, my main request is the ability to be present. Like all of us, I've got a lot going on at home. For example, I've already received my schedule from my main client and let's just say it leaves much to be desired--but that is a whole other prayer request. (Okay, you can pray that I'm where God wants me to be regarding employment when I return :-) I desire to use my time in India, away from daily distractions to be in India, to be with God, to be a blessing to Sebi and the others I come in contact with.
Today, I am flying to Orlando for a job with another client returning to Chicago Sunday night and then to India Tuesday evening. I will be continuing my blog SteveInIndia.BlogSpot.com I can be reached by phone until Tuesday afternoon email thereafter. I will be posting pictures on KodayGallery.com upon my return.
Thanks so much for your prayers and support.
God Bless,
Steve
